Bring on all the festive goodies!! Including these Dark Chocolate Peppermint Donuts. *insert all the drool*
I promise, I won’t over peppermint you… like that’s even possible. Dark chocolate peppermint is a combo that’s always a must this time of season! Since I haven’t created a new donuts recipe is far too long… this one was kind of mandatory.
I’d love to hear what your favorite holiday treats are! Mine would have to be my mothers legendary snack mix we’ve deemed “Nuts and Bolts”. I’ll have to see if I can snag the recipe to share with all of you!
PS: If you want to make these look more festive, ditch the chopped chocolate on top for some crushed up candy canes! I couldn’t find any that didn’t have any corn syrup so I opted for chopped chocolate instead. I regretted the decision immediately. Don’t be like me! Buy some organic candy canes and call it a day. I found these ones off amazon and they will work perfectly!

Dark Chocolate Peppermint Donuts
It doesn't get more festive than dark chocolate and peppermint
- 1 tbsp Flaxmeal
- 1/4 cup Coconut Oil melted
- small Banana
- 1/2 tsp Peppermint Extract
- 1/2 cup Almond Milk
- 6 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 3/4 cup Almond Flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Mini Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 cup Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips
- 1 tsp Coconut Oil
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a mini doughnut pan with cooking spray and set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flaxmeal, coconut oil, banana, peppermint extract and almond milk.
Add in the dry ingredients (except for the chocolate chips) into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Add in the chocolate chips and stir one more time.
Spoon the batter into your mini doughnut pan. The batter should make exactly 12 mini donuts.
Bake for 12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let them cool completely before topping them with the glaze!
Melt the chocolate and the coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl in 30 seconds increments. Spoon the melted chocolate over the chocolate to your hearts content.
