Made with simple ingredients and high in protein, this homemade Copycat Starbucks Mocha Cookie Crumble recipe is a healthier version of your favorite treat. Treat yourself to a midday pick-me-up with this easy recipe! Your wallet will thank you.
My dudes. I was having an intense moment with the Starbucks Cookie Crumble. If you’ve tried it, you understand, and I don’t need to explain myself. I don’t need to explain myself even if you haven’t’, but I’m going to anyway. Don’t judge. Here’s my reasoning.
- Treat yourself.
- I deserve to have what I want.
- I’m a goddess (trying to manifest that ish, okay).
I was fully enjoying my caffeinated treat and getting used to this type of lifestyle. THEN, my wallet reminded me that my goddess level and bank account level are not on the same page and that I should sit the eff down. Apparently, we can’t get used to overpriced coffee every day. Rude AF if you ask me.
So, not willing to give up this little moment of bliss, I decided to create my own, more budget-friendly recipe. After all, my Toffee Nut Latte, Cayenne Coffee, and Banana Latte Smoothie are staples in my daily routine. However, you’re not ready for this one! Hold on to your seats, because you are NOT ready for how good this one turned out!
Original Mocha Cookie Crumble Latte Ingredients
Before making this recipe, I went on a mission to find all the secret ingredients that combine to make this absolute deliciousness. I sat down at my computer prepared to spend hours researching and digging into whatever deep dark depths of the internet I needed to go down. Turns out, all of the ingredients and even the nutrition facts are listed on Starbuck’s website. Needless to say, my detective skills weren’t put to the test for long. The full ingredient list is long, but the bulk of it included ice, milk, coffee, whipped cream, coffee, mocha sauce, and cookie toppings.

How to Make Your Own Healthier Version of a Cookie Crumble Latte
While it’s worth everything, the original recipe has a whopping 480 calories and 55 grams of sugar. So, while I have no regrets, my waistline might if I gave in to my addiction on the daily. However, I knew I could do better. So, after a little experimenting, I successfully swapped out the original ingredients for some healthier alternatives such as plant-based milk and protein powder from Nuzest USA (use code: thekellykathleen to save on every order). The result was magical. To complete this masterpiece, I used crumbled up Oreos. However, you could use any topping you want. Any of your favorite cookies, chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, and more would taste amazing.
How to Make Your Own Cookie Crumble Latte
To make this vegan latte recipe for yourself, first brew your coffee of choice. I recommend a fairly bland blend so that you don’t overpower the rest of the ingredients. Think simple medium roast coffees over the crazy flavored versions.
Then, add all of the ingredients to a cup or blender. Mix, blend, or whisk until well combined and smooth. To finish, crumble up a few cookies by placing them in a plastic baggie and crushing them. Add the cookies to the top of the latte, and if you love yourself, a spritz of whipped cream.
Seriously, it’s that easy! In fact, I’m willing to bet, making this recipe is faster than standing in line at your local Starbucks.
Health Benefits of Protein Powder
Not only does Nuzest protein powder taste delicious, it also has quite a few health benefits! Plus, it’s an easy way to add a hint of sweetness to any recipe without incorporating insane amounts of sugar or mystery-ingredients. That’s right. I’m talking to you coffee syrups. Thanks to the protein, this latte recipe won’t leave you feeling empty and hungry in an hour. Instead, you’ll feel full, satisfied, and most importantly energized. As if you needed any more convincing, protein powder can aid in weight management, help you recover after a hard workout (or chasing your kids all day), and help build up muscle mass which will help you burn more calories, prevent injury, and disease, and more.
How to Make a Homemade Vegan Latte without Coffee
Arguably, the best part of this recipe is the coffee. However, if for whatever reason you don’t want to use it, you have several options. For instance, if you’re avoiding caffeine, you could simply use a decaf coffee. However, if you’re looking to totally remove the coffee, this recipe will work just as well without it. Just blend up the other ingredients as normal. Just keep in mind that you will need to add extra milk in order to fully blend the protein powder.
How to Turn a Latte into a Smoothie
If you prefer to eat your foods rather than drink them, you’re in luck. With the addition of just 1 simple ingredient, you can turn this smooth, liquidy smoothie into a thick bowl. All you need to do is add a handful or two of ice, and throw the ingredients in a blender! To make it even thicker and add a little bit of sweetness, you could even freeze a banana ahead of time and use it as well!
