How to Make These Irresistible Cruffins

Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Grease four molds of a muffin tin with cooking spray.
Spread the Joy: Move swiftly to unroll the puff pastry, then spread cookie butter evenly from end to end, using a spatula. Warm the cookie butter for 10 seconds if it’s dense.
Roll and Cut: Roll the pastry into a long log and cut it in half, creating two shorter logs. Cut each log lengthwise down the center to expose the layers, resulting in four half logs.
Shape and Place: Take one half log, wrap it around itself, stretching the dough slightly. Tuck the last inch underneath to hide its “tail” and place it in the greased muffin tin. Repeat with the remaining strips.
Bake to Golden Perfection: Bake the cruffins for 40-45 minutes until the tops are a deep golden brown. Take a peak at them around the 35 minute mark, ff the tops of the cuffins are getting too brown, cover the pastries with foil until they are done baking.
Sugar Bath: While baking, whisk together granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt (if using). Once the cruffins are done, brush them with melted butter and toss them in the sugar mixture.
Indulge: Quickly remove the cruffins from the tin, using a knife if necessary, and savor the sugary, cinnamon-coated delight!

How to make it your own:

Feel free to switch up your choice of spread – chocolate, nut or seed would be amazing in these. Try a fruit compote if you’re itching to be adventurous.

Add-ins galore – The options for add-ins are endless. Toss in some nuts, dried fruit or seeds for added texture. Add in chocolate chips or sprinkles for a little extra fun!

Serve them warm for a quick, tasty treat – pair them with your favorite coffee or tea.

Storing Your Cruffins:

Whether you’re enjoying them straight out of the oven or keeping them for a couple of days, these cruffins hold up well. Freeze them for longer shelf life, and reheat whenever the craving strikes.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I double this recipe? Absolutely! Scale up the ingredients and adjust the baking time accordingly.

How do I know when they’re done? This is a bit tricky because the outside of the cruffins will look done when the inside is a raw dough ball. My bed advice would be to lean on the side of caution and to place a piece of foil over the pastries for the last 10-15 minutes of baking to ensure the centers have enough time to bake.
